Zoya Moxie

Alicia’s nails, 2 coats, sunlight

Zoya Moxie, from the Spring 2009 Twist collection, is a deep bold raspberry creme. Like most Zoya cremes, the texture was incredibly smooth and easy to apply. I bought this to match my beloved Bobbi Brown Raspberry pot rouge.

While raspberry colour may not be the in-thing right now, it’s still a very flattering colour. Bobbi Brown herself mentioned something about how raspberry suits every skintone.

My mom’s nails, 2 coats, sunlight

My mom absolutely adored Zoya Moxie and she is a tough customer. Older folks tend to veer towards boring reds and pinks, and for her to like a colour I bought was quite awesome indeed!

OPI Alpine Snow (matte)

Alicia’s nails, 3 coats, sunlight

Alicia’s nails, 3 coats, artificial light, iPhone picture

Alpine Snow (matte) is a stark white polish and was a bitch to pain. Three coats were needed here not because the pigmentation was thin but because it streaked so badly. I couldn’t paint this at all, so Alicia did this on her own. She just applied the lacquer very quickly in quick globs because it dried almost instantly. I bought this thinking I could use it for French tips but it’s rather impossible.

With China Glaze Snow Globe, one coat

With China Glaze Treasure Chest, 1 coat

The white polish was great for layering. I prefer the look with Snow Globe, a clear polish with irridescent rainbow-coloured glitter pieces.

You can also alternate Alpine Snow with a black polish. Amanda wore this to Halloween.

China Glaze Grape Juice

2 coats, shade

2 coats, sunlight

Sorry for the three-nailed swatch. My index finger was hurt so I couldn’t put any polish near the wound. This is yet silver glass-flecked lacquer from China Glaze’s 2009 Summer Days collection. Yes, it’s an old collection and I’m late to the game but here I am, Grape Juice! Do I look like I’m wearing crushed grapes on my fingernails?

Melissa’s nails, 2 coats, flash

Here’s Melissa’s Grape Juice manicure. The flash doesn’t bring out the silver glimmer as well as direct sunlight, but trust me, this polish glitters and dances everywhere!

China Glaze Strawberry Fields

2 coats, sunlight

Strawberry Fields is a pink polish with golden glass fleck shimmer from China Glaze’s 2009 Summer Days collection. In the second picture, you can see how incredibly glossy the polish is even without top coat. My tip lines still show with two coats, so maybe a third coat would be better. This reminds me slightly of the NARS Orgasm blush, which is pretty much a pink blush with golden shimmer.

2 coats, flash

I wore this on my toes to a dance performance where the theme was pink and bling.
